TANZANIA is a significant gold producer in Africa, ranking third after Ghana and South Africa. With notable mines in the Lake Victoria region, Lupa Gold Field, and Handeni, the country’s gold reserves are estimated at around 45 million ounces, and annual production stands at about 50 tons. Major gold mines include Geita, Bulyanhulu, North Mara, Buzwagi, and New Luika. 
Tanzania Gold Production Tanzania’s total gold production reached 55.6 tonnes in the financial year 2020/21, versus 53.7 tonnes in the financial year 2019/20, and 42 tonnes in the financial year 2018/19. Gold exploitation is done by both large and medium-scale miners as well as small-scale miners.
